Set in the background of a rural village in the outskirts of India, Karkarsh depicts the hardships of a woman. Shankar, a villager, doubts his wife for infidelity. He stoops down to an extent of taking a loyalty test on her with the help of some Pandits. In this case, Shankar believes in his friends who are against his wife. Due to this loyalty test, he puts his wife through several tortures and problems. Watch How Shankar's wife proves her innocence which also forms the climax of the movie.
Suchitra Pillai is overjoyed and is eagerly awaiting the release of all her impending projects slated to release this year though Kamal Sadanah's KARKASH is closest to her heart. "I play the lead in KARKASH opposite Anup Soni. It's basically a women oriented film that mainly focuses on women empowerment. Anup plays this 'male chauvinistic pig' in the film who spares no opportunity to mistreat me, so much so that he suspects me of having an affair", divulges the dusky Keralite.
Suchitra plays a timid, submissive woman in this film. Well she sure doesn't seem like the meek 'n coy kind, one who can be taken for a ride, especially considering her cool and vivacious image off-screen. "I play Parvati, a docile 'gharelu' woman in KARKASH who overcomes every obstacle and proves that she can have an upper hand despite all odds. This film has already been screened at Delhi, Chennai International Film Fest and Ukraine-The Russian film festival", she gushes.
Well this isn't it. She also has PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS and POSTCARD in her kitty. The former stars Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat along with Suchitra. "I play Mallika Sherawat's best friend in PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS. Rahul and I just detest each other in the film, so much so that he calls me a 'Dracula'. I don't approve of their relationship but in the end I kind of come to their rescue. About POSTCARD, it has three different stories where I play one of the protagonists. It's an English film directed and produced by Rajshri Ojha. I play actor Kartik Kumar's sister in the film. It also has Shayan Munshi, Soha Ali Khan, Ankur Khanna, Victor Banerjee and Rupa Ganguly", she adds.
