The Foundation was built up by popular Nepali humorists and lovebirds, Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Ghimire (Suntali).

The 2015 Nepal blockade, which began on 23 September 2015, is an economic and humanitarian crisis which has severely affected Nepal and its economy.

The government of Nepal has accused India of imposing an undeclared blockade. India has denied the allegations, stating the supply shortages have been imposed by Madheshi protesters within Nepal, and that India has no role in it. However, despite Indian denials, minimal border entries even from border points that witnessed no agitation added to the allegations that it was indeed an India enforced border blockade.

As a landlocked nation, Nepal imports all of its petroleum supplies from India. Roughly 300 fuel trucks enter from India on a normal day, but this has dwindled to a sporadic passage of 5–10 fuel trucks daily since the start of the crisis, though shipments of perishables like fruits and vegetables have generally been allowed to pass. The blockade has choked imports of not only petroleum, but also medicines and earthquake relief material.

n the day that the fuel blockade began, Indian Express newspaper reported that India had demanded specific changes to the new Nepali constitution. While the Indian Government denied this claim, the Indian Express reporter stood by his/her original report restating that "these amendments/changes were communicated by New Delhi to Kathmandu".  In a report from the The Economic Times, a personnel from the Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) "confirmed that at least till the third week of September, they had orders from above to intercept fuel shipments to Nepal". Nepali social media took to immediate protest against the alleged Indian interference with the hashtag #BackOffIndia as well as street agitation. When news of the blockage of shipments reached the government, Kathmandu sent additional military forces to the border. Despite the suppression of the bandh, supplies had been blocked on the Indian side. Many leaders of various parties claimed India had infiltrated the Madhesh with Indian protesters, and Madheshi leaders have refuted the infiltration allegations, stating that the Madheshis should not be mistaken for Biharis or other Indians.

Pahilo Post Wrote that The Indian government has cited security reasons behind the obstruction of supply of fuel and basic commodities to Nepal due to an ongoing agitation against the new Constitution by Nepal's Madhesi parties at the India-Nepal border.

"Nepal is passing through a serious humanitarian crisis which should not happen even during the wars. The blockade imposed by our southern neighbour has underestimated the feeling of the Nepali and Indian people. Imposing a blockade to a landlocked nation is a breach of international treaties, norms and values," the prime minister said.

He said that Nepal wants to have relations with its neighbours on the basis of the principles of Panchsheel.

Stating that the government was making all efforts to address genuine concerns of agitating Madhesi parties, Prime Minister Oli said that the government is ready to review the demarcation of federal sate borders which has been a key demand of the agitating parties.

"The newly promulgated Constitution is not discriminatory to any sections of people including the Madhesi. It has addressed the aspirations of all people. As the Constitution is a dynamic document, it can be amended several times. I would like to urge Madhesi parties to end the ongoing agitation," the prime minister added.
